Memorial Day ride

Just past 7am on Memorial Day, Travis Grappo, Brian Parker, and myself took off for a mountain bike ride on the ridgeline behind our neighborhood.  We left Area 41 Pizza and headed down hwy 41 to Soccer Blast.  From there, we jumped onto the Dunnavant Valley Greenway Trail and then took an off-shoot trail to start heading to the top.

After a nasty steep climb (438 feet elevation change in 0.9 miles), we arrived at the dirt road that runs along the ridge of Double Oak Mountain.  From there it was more uphill until a brief section of pavement broke up the ride.  Once pavement ended, we headed northeast along the ridge trail (basically double track the entire way) until we hit the second power line crossing.  After that it was just a matter of turning around and heading back home.
